Welcome to the Past Lives Wiki. This is a place for members of Past Lives to host “living documents,” runbooks, instruction manuals, links, notes, and design files with each other and the world.

Although most of this wiki is available to openly read on the internet, this is a members-only wiki that requires an active PL subscription to edit. Some areas (in the `Private` namespace) contain sensitive information and also need an active account to read.

This wiki belongs to all citizens of the makerspace. You are empowered to add, edit, and clean up. Don’t feel that only certain people are “allowed” to make changes. If you see something that needs a change or enhancement, please do it!

This Wiki's Core Tenets

• Information Sharing — We are here not only to share information within our guilds, but to give it cross-guild visibility. The spirit of sharing can help with recruiting new members (from other guilds and the world at large) as well as cross-guild collaboration.
• Information Accuracy — Documentation often has an expiration date. Processes change over time and written docs fall out of date. At best, old docs are useless and at worst, they can be harmful. We strive to keep wiki pages updated (or visibly marked as obsolete so you don't waste your time).
• Human and Tool Safety — Machines don't know the difference between metal/wood/fabric/glass and flesh. And people can misconfigure and misuse machines in destructive and costly ways. Preflight checklists and runbooks help prevent mistakes.

Additional Fine Print

NOTE that runbooks, pre-flight checklists, and other instructional material are NOT a substitute for orientation and qualification on machines and guilds. They are to help jog your memory, guaranteeing you do not miss a critical usage or maintenance step — especially with equipment you may only rarely use.
